History in the Making

Capri Relax Boats has been sailing the sea surrounding Capri for almost a century. It was in the 1920s when the Grand Hotel Quisisana first employed a group of expert skippers from Marina Grande to accompany its guests around the coast of Capri. These included our grandfathers and great grandfathers, who, with their rowboats, created the island's first boat rental service.

The business changed dramatically in the late 1960s, when Sorrento's Aprea shipyard started producing motor boats, finally marking the end of an era when Capri's sailors had to rely exclusively on wind and muscle power!

As times changed, so too did the requests of the tourists visiting the island. Thus, in 1995, we decided to join forces with other experienced skippers and create Capri Relax Srl.
In 2004, we opened our offices in Marina Grande.

Many years have passed, but our mission remains the same: to offer a professional, high quality service - with a smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are our boats located?

Capri Relax boats are moored at the Capri harbor.

How many passengers can sail on a Capri Relax Boat?

Capri Relax Boats have a capacity for a maximum 10 passengers and 1 skipper.

There are 10 people in our group, surely one extra person won't be a problem?

Boats are insured for a maximum of 11 passengers including the skipper. Under no circumstances can we board more than 10 passengers.

Are rates per person?

No, rates are per boat, not per person.

Do boats have safety equipment on board?

Yes, all boats have all the safety equipment required by law on board.

Are entry tickets to the Blue Grotto included in the price?

No, because the visit to the cave is optional. If you decide to visit the Blue Grotto, you'll need to pay the entrance fee, which includes the cost of being accompanied by rowboat into the cave and government tax (the Blue Grotto is a cultural site owned by the Italian state).

How long does it take to sail around the island?

The classic tour around the island takes about 2 hours. The duration of the tour can be extended to 4 hours (half day) or 7 hours (full day), giving passengers the opportunity to enjoy sailing around the island at a more leisurely pace and stopping to sunbathe or swim in the sea.

Can you organize a taxi for me after the tour?

Yes, of course

Can you book a table for me at a restaurant?

Yes, we'd be pleased to book restaurants on the island of Capri or anywhere you'd like on the Amalfi Coast.

Do your skippers speak English?

Yes, all our skippers speak reasonably good English and will be happy to share the secrets of the coast of Capri with you.

Do you rent boats without crew?

No, we only rent boats manned by one of our expert skippers.

I'm traveling to Naples on a cruise ship. Can you come and pick me up at the port?

Unfortunately, we cannot moor in the proximity of cruise ships. The best solution for those arriving in Naples is to sail to Capri aboard one of the hydrofoils which regularly depart from Molo Beverello (next to the docks where the cruise liners come in). The journey lasts approximately 50 minutes.

Can we have lunch on board?

You can have lunch at one of the many seaside restaurants in Capri or on the Amalfi Coast or, for a small additional fee, we can organize an on-board picnic for you with traditional tomato and mozzarella panini.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards. Payment should be made in our office in Marina Grande.

We look forward to meeting you on Capri and showing you an unforgettable day at sea!
